Well Andrew, that certainly is interesting. I had wondered if that
were possible. This machine might have been a good candidate as it
was reputedly in good working condition. However, I've now removed
the x and y actuators, controls, tube manifolds, air lines, and
table locks from the machine and have started on the z actuators and
associated parts. Everything looks real good so far. I want to
eliminate as much of the clutter around the head as I can without
losing any functionality. I hope to finish stripping down the
machine in the next few days and then start on clean up, then maybe
get some paint on it so it's clean to work on. Should keep me busy
for a little while.
