The newer 'bot design like the Ultimaker is MUCH faster and more
consistent and reliable than the original Makerbot design.
However, it's only appropriate for small volume. It may only take 30
min or even 10 minutes but that's still far too long to spend on a
spacer in a commercial environment. An automated build platform does,
in theory, allow you to set it and walk away, but someone still has to
be responsible for operating it and it'll only churn out a handful in a day.
If it's a 2D part, just laser cut it.
