I gotta say, the fellows working at length with the Makerbot we have
here have not have "consistent" success.
It was one of the early ones, but has since been upgraded with many mods.
Most of the time it keeps just blowing the run and making spaghetti,
despite their best efforts. Something like 1/2-2/3rds of the time, it's
not working. Sometimes it does make neat stuff.

I'm not saying the technology's a fake or anything like that- I'm saying
the early versions weren't all that reliable.
So, they exaggerated a bit on it how easy it was to use, that's normal
for the real world.
I'd also say the important point is to do research on the most effective
current version of this technology, and not get attached to "the
original" if it's just out-of-date tech at this point.
