The Ultimaker is the next generation of that- they removed everything
off the inertia of the head so it not only has insane speeds, but very
high acceleration.

The UM was extruding at 150mm/sec with ABS, 300mm/sec with PLA. I saw
some links where people were talking about going to 1000mm/sec. For
reference, a CNC mill might do 40ipm, which is 17mm/sec.

This is not just about runtime. I haven't used it myself, but have a
good friend who does it a lot- the higher speed, among other things,
allows it to print overhanging surfaces at much greater deviations from
vertical.
